Gathering groups of women, providing supplies, teaching my process, watching them wrestle and record, then sharing our final pieces is a ministry I never saw for myself but couldn't be more thrilled about. If you are local to Southern Maryland (or are willing to pay for my travel!) contact me for information about setting up an event with your people.
PROCESS over PRODUCT
Art journaling is not about the beauty of the finished piece, but rather what is discovered and cemented in our memories through the process of wrestling with the concepts and materials. Even the most 'unartistic' among us are able to benefit from this practice.
Our minds are slippery, and so often the things God has taught me seem to slip through the cracks as life goes on. When I take the time to wrestle with the lesson and record it in my art journal it becomes 'stickier.' I'm less likely to forget. And more importantly, more likely to not need to learn the (sometimes painful) lesson again.
Discipleship is a huge part of my art journaling passion. Please check out the discipleship blog "To Be Known" that I contribute to as well where you will find several blogs specific to my art journaling process!
